Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are always a large amount of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles out there, but there has to be a thing that you’ve hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or even a major healing. So, that which was it?”
“Trust,” I said.
Think about your lifetime because it is apparently these days when it comes to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who is my source?” So once we discuss the last stage of the awakening being pure trust, it’s simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon all of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. It’s similar to creating a big house of cards, stacking on one card after the other. Then the good wind occurs and poof, it’s only blown over. It can’t even stand only a little gust of wind. It’s so frail. It’s so temporary. It’s so transitory; a class in miracles It absolutely was this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon the rest; those items that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It surely comes down to the essence of who’s my cousin? Can it be Spirit or matter? Can it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried that one?So you are asking the question, “When someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all of this is heading is always to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening can tell you is that everything is mental and that everything is just a hallucination. That is a world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all. There’s no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to build his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the bond between thought and form. His lessons start with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all this is it’s for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way as much as number four, “These thoughts don’t mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He’s discussing thoughts. First He’s discussing perception, then about our thoughts, then He returns with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 … perception, perception, perception, perception, perception … and then number 10, “My thoughts don’t mean anything.” You can see he’s wanting to melt everything together and show the last veil or stage of awakening, which is trust.
The Holy Spirit uses time and energy to teach us there is no such thing as time, to take us back compared to that timeless moment that’s the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us that they’re all illusions and that they’re all equally meaningless. That’s precisely the way of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to utilize your head to loosen the attachments from the investment in a myriad of things. What sort of things can you invest in, these days?
